4 The Love Of Family was once again chosen to host a #DisneySide @Home Celebration! After all the magic at last year’s party, we knew this year’s would be just as incredible. I want to start by giving a HUGE THANKS to Disney Parks and Mom Select for offering us the opportunity to spread some Disney love. It all started here. Our #DisneySide party box arrived with all the necessary supplies to host a magical event. We were provided the supplies, but you can have a #DisneySide Party of your own anytime! I encourage you to. It’s so much fun! All you have to do is channel your inner Disney and the event will be just your style. For lots of ideas and inspiration, check out our link up at the bottom of this post vvvvv, Disney Side Celebrations, Spoonful.com , and Babble.com.

We were chosen for a “muli-generational” party. It worked out wonderfully and I loved seeing how each generation showed and talked about their DisneySides! The youngest generation was all about the characters, dressing up and someday getting to go to Disney Parks. The oldest remembered experiencing the parks in their different stages of life and longed to share these memories with anyone who would listen.

We celebrated our #DisneySides along with my oldest’s 10th birthday (10?? How is that possible??).

The birthday boy welcomed guests to “Disney” with a “celebrate” button, park maps, and stickers. The atmosphere was relaxed. Our Disney Parks DVD played on the television while guests played Disney BINGO, word searches, matching, trivia questions, created Family Trees and made their own Mickey ears (b/c what’s a trip to Disney without Mickey ears?). Copies of the Disneyland News Newspaper started many conversations.

In our family, we try to focus on healthy living and eating. That isn’t always easy when it comes to celebrations. Celebrations are often focused around comfort foods and typically, unhealthy foods. However, with a little help from some of our favorite brands, we were able to celebrate our #DisneySides in a healthy way. Our local Chick-Fil-a made preparing fresh, healthy options SO EASY!! All we had to do was order and pick it up. They took care of every detail and it was fresh and delicious! Our guests are now big Chick-fil-A fans! Brothers-All-Natural is another of our favorite brands. I am amazed at how convenient, yet healthy and yummy they make fruit and vegetables (and fun! Did you notice the Disney packaging they have?). Dried pears, apples, strawberries and bananas were available and many guests tried them for the first time. Quite a few new fans were found that day. The UTZ popcorn bag was almost too neat to open. The “Mickey Through The Ages” on the front was the perfect addition to our set up. As for the popcorn, more than one guest begged to know where they can purchase in stores.

Although we focused on healthy, the birthday cakes and cupcakes were an exception. Can’t you almost just hear the cake saying “hi-ya”? I had so much fun playing around with hidden Mickey in the kitchen! In addition to the Mickey hidden inside the cupcakes, I ended up with 6 different ways to create Mickey cupcakes.

Instead of a photo booth (our Disney Photo Prop post is our #1 post! Click to link) this year, we had everyone download the DisneySide App and take some pics. Have you tried it? It’s so much fun (And yes, that is Mr Rogers as a pirate-lol! He was not at the party. I’m sure your surprised. That would be the work of my son)!

They say all good things must come to an end. Hopefully in this case, it’s just a pause. After a magical afternoon, it was time to head home and everyone had a bit of Disney magic to take with them. You can check out how we made the adorable Minnie and Mickey Treat Bags here.
